Does your organization face one of the challenges listed below?

Each of the following sections contains links to information about systems that we provide that can help your organization. To learn more, please click on one of these links or contact us (949)-600-6970.

Locating and Tracking Mobile Equipment and Reference

Hospitals, Home & Hospice Care, Educational, and Research Institutions, all face the problem of managing valuable assets that move. Regardless if it is oxygen tanks or wheelchairs, these items leave their primary location to other locations and/or can leave your facility entirely. Since organizations place these items into the hands of patients, students, or employees, a tracking system needs to track not only by location but also by person. We can help you put together a Durable Equipment Tracking system to make sure you know who has what items and the location of those items. Using the latest in technology (barcode, RFID, WIFI, etc.) to easily capture vital data, we can help you create a system that will show you everything you need to know.

Control of Perishable and Non-Perishable Inventories

For Hospitals, Home & Hospice Care, Education, and Research organizations, inventory problems cost money. Improper management of perishable items such as pharmaceuticals and chemicals, as well as non-perishable items such as gloves, needles, and masks can hurt customer service and needlessly drive up company expenses. Service levels decrease and expedited shipment costs escalate when out-of-stock conditions exist. Waste occurs when overstock causes spoilage and excess and obsolete inventory tie up valuable dollars. With a Basic Inventory System, we can deploy technologies such as bar code and wireless data capture (batch and RF) to help make sure you keep only what you need and have it ready when you need it.

Organizations with larger scale inventory facilities, such as Equipment, Supply, and Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Distributors, often require a complete Warehouse Management System (WMS). These more robust inventory-tracking systems verify incoming and outgoing products with pick lists and receipt tickets as well as provide more advanced inventory management features such as directed picking and tracking of serial numbers, lot numbers, and date codes. As with the smaller Basic Inventory Systems, organizations can use bar code and wireless data capture (batch and RF) technologies with WMS. However, customer compliance programs can require deployment of RFID tags that your inventory system must support.

Meeting Label Requirements and Reducing Errors

The Labeling and Marking of items, inventory, and even patients provides an effective way of quick and accurate data collection. Hospitals often apply wristband labels when admitting patients. Use of Mobile Technologies in conjunction with mobile scanning hardware (printer, portable terminal, etc.) can allow the issuance of these labels from anywhere in the facility. Hospitals can save lives when using this technology to verify the match of patient to prescription.

Education and Research organizations depend on Basic Labeling and Marking with labeling technologies such as direct thermal or thermal transfer to track the history and location of clinical trials and lab tests. Integrated into a tracking system, these systems can provide valuable reports more quickly and accurately.

Manufacturers need to label and mark their products as well and often use Auto Labeling and Marking Systems. Pharmaceutical Manufacturers must meet stringent labeling requirements to comply with FDA mandates for product labeling and tractability. Equipment and Medical Supply Manufacturers must, at a minimum, label their product with basic information such as part number, serial number, lot number, etc., using standard labeling technologies such as thermal printing. In some cases, the item is directly marked with laser, dot peen, or ink jet technologies.

Equipment and Medical Supply Distributors often incorporate labeling into the Warehouse Management System for incoming products, missing tags, location bins (to help with put-away and picking), and outgoing product to meet their customer label requirements. These labels usually use bar code or RFID printing technology. Warehouse employees can use the speed and accuracy of these automatic identification technologies to speed operations and remove errors caused by inability to read handwriting or transposition of characters.

Management of Expensive Assets

Any organization in the Healthcare Industry uses high value assets to perform critical functions. From devices as simple as personal computers to more specialized devices as blood analyzers, an Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) or Basic Asset Tracking System can help reduce the costs of carrying these items. Wireless Technology deployed with Scanning Hardware can allow an individual to perform a physical inventory of all assets reporting on new items and missing items at various locations and sites. The organization can perform the physical inspection easily and accurately using automatic identification technologies such as barcode and RFID. Some systems will allow advanced features such as depreciation calculations to support accurate financial statements and improve capital budget forecasting. Product maintenance features in some applications will help extend asset life and help identify assets going out of warranty before the coverage ends.

Finding and Storing Records in Compliance with HIPPA

Hospitals and Home & Hospice Care organizations keep detailed personal medical history records on their patients to ensure they get the best possible treatment. Patient records include not only standard paperwork but also non-standard paper items such as X-rays. From technician to doctor to file cabinet, these records move. An Integrated File Tracking System or Basic File Tracking System designed properly, can provide visibility to patient information while protecting their legal rights under HIPPA. In addition, health care organizations can use the same technology to record the location of patient records kept in long-term storage. In both cases organizations use bar code and RFID technologies to identify the files and boxes.

Finding Critical and Time Sensitive Packaged Deliveries

For just about all midsize and larger organizations that deliver packages internally to different offices, departments, or floors, finding that critical overnight delivery can provide frustrating challenges. When you do not have time to call around within your company or need to trace what happened to your specific package after it entered the building, an Enterprise Package Tracking System or Basic Package Tracking System can help. Using the same barcode, signature capture, and wireless technology used by every major package delivery service, you can have the same timely tracking information inside your company.
